Commemorate the YCD Changemakers Gala 2023 with this one-of-a-kind football signed by Broncos Hall of Famers Steve Atwater and Terrell Davis, who are also appearing at the event as featured speakers!  The football will be signed at the event on September 9.

Steve Atwater was selected by the Denver Broncos in the first round, 20th pick overall, of the 1989 NFL Draft. He was a hard-hitting and instinctive safety, Atwater played in 167 games during his 11-season career. He made an immediate impact at free safety in his rookie season. Atwater recorded 129 total tackles (2nd most on the team) to help turn around a Denver defense that ranked 20th in points allowed the previous year to become the NFL’s stingiest unit in 1989. The Broncos finished that season with the AFC’s best record at 11-5 and a berth in Super Bowl XXIV. 

Atwater was voted to the first of eight Pro Bowls following the 1990 season. He also earned first-team All-Pro recognition for the first of two straight years (1991-92). In 1997, he was an integral part of the Broncos’ championship season that was capped by the franchise’s first Super Bowl title. Atwater played his final season with the Broncos in 1998 and he helped lead them to a second straight Super Bowl victory. Atwater was elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on February 1, 2020.

Well known for his “Mile High Salute,” to fans and teammates in celebration of a touchdown, Terrell Davis has the distinction of being the NFL’s Denver Broncos all-time leading rusher. During his career at Denver, Davis ran for 7,607 yards on 1,655 carries. Although his career was cut short, he left the game with an impressive list of honors and awards that include: 3x Pro Bowl Selection, 3x 1st team All Pro, 2x Offensive player of the year, 1998 NFL MVP , 1998 NFL Rushing Champion, 1990’s All- Decade Team, Super Bowl XXXII (32) MVP, back to back Super Bowl Champion (32,33) and Broncos Ring of Fame induction. In 2017, after 11 years of waiting, Davis was induced into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. 

Currently, Davis is a partner in Alpha1 Tax & Wealth based in Denver. He also is Co-Founder of DEFY, a sports performance brand built specifically for athletes and those trying to achieve a healthy lifestyle. Terrell is also focused on giving back. His philanthropic work is focused on the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA). Being a former club kid himself, he has been inducted into the BGCA Hall of Fame and is currently an ambassador supporting the cause. Most recently, Davis has partnered with The Center for African American Health, which works to improve the health and well-being of African Americans in Metro Denver by offering community-based, evidenced-based, disease prevention and disease management programs, events, and services.
